Perfect Morning Routine Men | how to increase your morning?

Hey guys, welcome back!

Everybody starts their days the same way: By getting up in the morning. 😀 Some may need longer to wake up, others are already fresh and ready as soon as they open their eyes. Today I wanted to show you my morning routine, which takes about one and a half hours. Of course some of you may not have that much time in the morning, so just try modify it to fit your way – and maybe you can take one or two things from mine to start your day better.

Waking up

My alarm rings at 6:30 every morning during the week. Even though I am selfemployed and theoretically able to sleep in, I like to get up early. It’s the best way for me to be productive.

Getting up

I think the next step is the same for everyone: Going tot he bathroom. 😀 Then I wash my face with cold water. You may not like the cold, but you will feel fresh and awake afterwards.

After that I always drink a few glasses of water, to get hydrated. The average person loses about one or two litres of fluid during the night while sweating. By drinking water, I get that back.

A new thing each day

I open the windows, let some fresh air in … and go back to bed. But not to sleep. Recently I started learning spanish. The reason for that is simple – like Arnold Schwarzenegger said: „If you learn one new thing a day, you will feel more productive“. So I do that for about half an hour until 45 minutes.

When I am done learning, I get up for real! 😛 I make the bed and put on some music. Making the bed is a ritual that helps you getting more into a routine. It is a promise to yourself to not get back in there. Regarding the music, in the morning I like to listen to some deep house tracks. It has just the right vibe.

Breakfast

Right now I am doing intermediate fasting, which means I don’t eat until 11 am. So this early I only make some tea, which, first of all, is delicious, and second, it keeps your stomach full, so you don’t get hungry.

In addition to that I take some supplements, which I will list right here:

In the morning:
– L-Carnitin: It helps to burn fat + you have more power at sports
– Zink + Magnesium for better skin
– Daily Vitamins for General Health

Before Training:
– BCAA for better muscle recovery

In the evening:
– Omega 3 for better Skin (Naturals Fats)
– CBD in the evening

Body care

So, when I took care of the inside of my body, it is time to take care of the outside.

Fort he face and face I use skin cleanser. It doesn’t really matter which product you use, because every skintype reacts differently to different products.

Then I am doing my hait (check out my hair tutorials for that 😉). I don’t wash it every day, because it would get too dry and fragile. I always wash it after workouts, but only three times a week I will use shampoo. That way my hair stays healthy.

I work my down, so to speak, brush my teeth and moisturize my face. Again: find the product that fits you best. Also it is important to NOT rub it it, but rather touch it gently. That is way better for your skin.

To close it out, I use a bit of perfume. Maybe in the future there will be a post about my favorite fragrances? 😛

Getting the system going

By now you should be pretty awake and feeling good already. But to get my systems going, I like to do a few pushups. I do round about 35, but you can work your way up from five to ten to fifteen and so on. It’s not a workout, just something that gets you pumped.

The best way to continue your morning would be a morning walk after that. I don’t always have time fort hat, but when my schedule allows it, I like to combine business calls with a long walk. This way you can burn additional calories (like 300). When you do it before breakfast, you burn even more!

The white board

The last step in my morning routine is checking my white board. On that I write my to do lists. It has helped me getting so much more productive, because you always see what’s next! And I am not going to lie: It feels great, erasing a finished task from that board. Having done that, I can start my working day right.

So, that was my morning routine. Do you have any suggestions on how I could make it even better? Do you have any secret tips I don’t know about yet? Let me know in the comments!

Down here you will find the Youtube Video where I actually take you on my morning routine! Have fun watching it!

Episode 28: ⁉️What is the best version of yourself⁉️

It’s hard to clearly define what means best.

As long as I can remember I am trying to be the best with discipline and goals.

But I don’t think that really means to be the best version of yourself. We are no machines, we are human and it’s also perfect to live a life with mistakes and learn from them.

——

For me: The best version is to keep the balance between hunting goals and enjoying the process to get there. Because the process is what makes our life.

Never forget to take a break and enjoy where you are right now in your process.

Episode 27:✖️What is PERFECT?!✖️

So many people are commenting my pictures and videos with “you are perfect”. 🧐🧐🧐

I always answer that no one can be perfect, because what is it to be perfect. There are so many different tastes out there.

Everyone likes something different.

Tall, small, thin, bigger, brown, blond and that’s only the appearance.

Then u have the mindset and character of someone. Shy, strong, lovely, arrogant, introverted and open minded.

– – – –

But there will be more than one puzzle piece out there that fits to u and what’s perfect for YOU! 🧩🖤

How to plan workout for a week? – inkl. workout-plan – fabianxarnold

Hey guys, I hope you are all doing well! As you know, I have shared a few of my workouts on YouTube (and there will be even more in die future 😉). But today I wanted to talk to you about how to structure those workouts properly. You cannot simply do one session everyday and expect to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger afterwards. 😀 Also, because of the pandemic, it is extra hard to find a fitting workout routine. That’s why I will try and show you how I structure my Workout Plan.

I will go through six simple questions and try to find ways to answer them. At the end of those you hopefully can structure your own fitness routine! While doing that, I will use my own workouts as an example.

Question 1: How many times per week should I work out?

This is the most important question in the beginning. To answer it, you have to be clear about your goals: Do you want to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger? Do you just want to be active and more healthy? Or do you simply want to have something to balance out your everyday life? Those goals determine the number of workouts.
I recommend something between three and six times per week. With less than three workouts a week, it is hard to get a routine going, doing seven workouts a week will probably overwork you.
In the example I use, we will do five workouts, so you have two days of rest.

Question 2: How long should I work out each time?

My recommendation here is between 45 minutes and two hours. But be sure to not only do one kind of workout, but rather combine them (more on that later). I recommend to do 45 minutes to an hour on five days a week, instead of doing two hours only three times a week. As I’ve said before, your mind gets into a routine. That is what we want to achieve.
So, for our example we well use an one hour workout five times a week.

Question 3: What different types of workouts are there?

Of course not every training session should be the same. Different type of workouts strain different kind of muscle groups. I like to divide the different types into three boxes. You can find the different sessions on my YouTube Channel:

Box 1 – Warm Up
Rope Skipping
10 min Full Body
10 min Stretching

Box 2 – Secondary workouts
10min Sixpack
Yoga
Meditation

Box 3 – Main Workouts
Push
Pull
Legs
Cardio

In the next steps we will get into them and put them together!

Question 4: Warm Up – What? How? When?

The Warm Up is very important in every workout. It gets your heart going and reduces the risk of an injury. Use five to ten minutes on that. You should do it before EVERY workout! Also you can switch it up here. A Warm Up can be a 10 minute fat burn (look on my YT Channel for that 😉) as well as rope skipping – it just has to be something to put your heart rate up and get you sweating.

Question 5: When should I train Abs?

Yeah, we all want to have a sixpack, don’t we? But we cannot train for it every day. We have to give those muscles some rest after a big session, so they can recover. Luckily, you can train abs more often than other muscle groups. I have found that, once you get really into it, they recover a lot better than the big muscle groups. So I recommend abs training every two workout days. I always do them before my Main Workouts. It helps me stay motivated! But be sure that the first few days your abs will burn. A lot.

Question 6: How do I integrate the Main Workouts?

We are almost done! Now we have five days to fill up the plan with our main exercises. For me, there are four different exercises to differentiate:

  1. Push Workout (Chest, Shoulders, Triceps)
  2. Pull Workout (Back, Neck, Biceps, Back Shoulder, Lower Back)
  3. Leg Workout (thighs and calves)
  4. Cardio (Running, Swimming, Bicycle etc.)

So, we have those four main groups. We can change them up however we please. On one day for example we can train push and pull together, or we can train push and legs together, or push and cardio … you get the idea. 😀
The way I do it is splitting them. Because I workout six times a week, I do one exercise each day. Monday push, Tuesday pull, Thursday legs and so on. But for someone who is just starting, it may be right to combine different workouts.

So, after adding your main exercises, the plan looks something like this:

As you can probably see, we now do the push training two times a week. Because there are five days, but only four main exercises, it allows us to have a base (Warm Up and Abs) and switch the main exercises one day up. That way no training week is the same!

So, that’s the workout plan! I hope it wasn’t too confusing and I was able to help some of you. 😊 If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the comments below! Also check out my Youtube Channel for all of my workouts, and there are even more on the way!

Take care, guys. Until the next time!

Hairstyle Tutorial: Leonardo DiCaprio

Hey guys, I hope you are all doing great!

I cut my hair. Yes, I did it. For 12 months I grew it and I wanted to cut it for so long – and I finally did (well, not me personally, but you get it :D).
New hair, new style! There are many different ways I can style my hair now. This time I want to show you a style that I think is very cool. I call it „The DiCaprio“. As you can tell by the name already, the look will be quite similar to Leonardo DiCaprio’s hairstyle – but in the 90’s. At that time he wasn’t the absolute megastar he is today, but rather a very talented up and comer, who started to land his first major roles. Oh, and a ladiesman as well.

Step 1: Wet your hair

You don’t need any products in your hair to begin with. You don’t even have to wash them beforehand. Just make sure, it is evenly wet and not dripping.

Step 2: Put volume in it

It doesn’t matter which product of volume mousse you use, it is just important that your hair has a little bit more strength in it and it doesn’t fall down so easily. Make sure that you don’t overdo it on the back and the sides though, because we don’t want to have too much volume on those parts, only at the top.

Step 3: Dry and form

Use a hair dryer and a brush. The main goal here is that your hair doesn’t fall down in your face anymore. You should also start on your middle parting by brushing your hair to either sides. After that you already should have a nice Leo-effect.

Step 4: Lean over and mess it up

Now your hair should be almost dry. In the final steps I like to bend over, so the hair falls straight down, and mess up the front strands to give them even more volume.
Now when you go through it with your hands (front to back), the Leo-effect is even more obvious.

Step 5: Matt paste

It is important that you use dry matt paste, not wet one! Even if you want to have a wet look, there are other ways to do it, just wait and see. 😉
With the same movement as before (front to back) you can give your hair now a nice form. To get the right texture, be sure to really mess it up at the end and brush it in. Now you can form it into place.

Step 6: Beard oil

To give your hair a more oily and healthy look, brush in some beard oil. You can even give yourself a little massage. Don’t use too much, otherwise it will look cheap. That is the advantage beard oil has to wet gel. It is much easier to get a cool look with beard oil, and in addition to that you can make fine adjustments without having to worry about soaking your hair.
After that the Leo-effect should be in full display. Damn, what a hairstyle!

Step 7: Hairspray

If you want it to hold, use some hairspray. Again: less is more. Make sure it holds, but don’t empty the bottle. 😀

That’s it for this awesome hairstyle! Tell me which styles you want to see next and I will try and make them happen. In the meantime, check out my Youtube Channel @fabianxarnold for more content! I recently uploaded a video, in which I tell you the story of how I became a model – of course you will find that on my website, as well.

So long, you guys, enjoy your day! Until next time. 😊

My Model Journey – How did I become a fashion model?

Hey guys, I hope you are all doing fine! Today I want to tell you about how my career as a model started. I learned so much since the beginning and I hope you can take away something from it, too.

2015

The Beginning

It all started six years ago – in 2015. I was 19 years old at the time, visiting a fitness fair called fibo. Maybe you have heard of it. I was walking around as a visitor, looking at different things, talking to people, when a photographer approached me. He said that I’d look interesting (because that’s what you want to hear, right? You look „interesting“ :D). He said that he wanted to take pictures of me. He gave me his little card and off he went.
I was really stunned by that. It was the first time anyone ever told me, I could be a model. And, to be honest, I thought he was lying. 😀 But that meeting sparked a fire in me. From that day on I wanted to become a model.

When I was in school, I was always the smallest one of my classmates, because I was a year younger than them. So naturally that was pretty rough. When I turned 16, I said to myself: I want to change something. I want to be a person, people look up to. And when I got the offer to take those pictures, I wanted to prove to everyone, my classmates, my old friends, my university colleagues, that I can become a model. So I accepted the offer and took the pictures.

The First Shoot

It was a very interesting shoot, because I have never been in front of a camera before, it was a first for me. And when I saw the pictures, I almost gave up immediatley. I wasn’t happy with my body at all. I had pictures in mind of those „perfect“ fitness models with their abs and perfect shape – they were just all well trained Abercrombie guys. And then I looked at me and thought: Oh, damn. That’s not what I look like.
So I decided to train more. I went to the gym every day. And I continued taking pictures with the photographer. From shoot to shoot the pictures got better and better. And I got more confident because of that.

2017 – Starting Instagram

With that new confidence, I started uploading these pictures on Instagram. But what I was doing then wasn’t Fashion Modeling at all. It was more like Art Style, Art Photography, Fitness Modeling, Instagram Modeling, whatever you want to call it. But it was no proper Fashion Modeling.

And then everything happened pretty fast. On Instagram I grew to 100k within a couple months and I got awards as an Influencer – but that wasn’t my dream. I wanted to become a proper Fashion Model. That was my goal from the first second I’ve started. But it was hard to get into the whole business.

In late 2017, when I finished my studies, my mum wanted me out of the house :D. She wanted to push me and support me doing my masters degree or growing my personality by going to Australia, doing Work and Travel. Those were my two options, both with big potential in it. In the end, I decided to go to Australia, because there I could do Social Media on the side and at the same time explore the world and grow my personality.

2018 – Australia

So I went to Australia. I started as a backpacker for three or four months and went from Melbourne to Sydney. Because simultaneously I was growing as an Influencer, I got invited to many events, which was really cool. And at one of those events I met my first proper Model Agent.
With that agency I learned the in and outs oft he Modeling Industry. I learned about test shoots (You can, too, it’s on my website 😉) and I got my first jobs.
Then I got very lucky, because Carlos BĂśttcher came to Australia. He is a proper Fashion Model and actor. I learned a lot from him, especially how to act in front of the camera. I am very grateful fort hat, Carlos!
From there on out I shot for „Aussiebum“, which was my first major shoot. And after that I even got to do some stuff with their daughter company in New Zealand, which was amazing as well! With those experiences in mind, I went back home to Germany.

2019

Germany

Having done some cool shoots in other countries, I now wanted to become a Fashion Model in Germany. But that was a lot harder that I thought it would be. In every country something else is required from you. In Germany, for example, they are very strict about the height and they don’t like searching for new Model Faces. In the U.S. on the other hand it is completely different, they love finding fresh faces.
Because of that, I couldn’t find an agency back home. I had to split from my agent in Australia, because my Visa ran out and I wasn’t able to go back there. But luckily for me, another door opened itself.

Signing up with DT Modelmanagement

I got in contact with DT Modelmanagement, which is my Model Agency right now. I wanted to try it big. I wanted to become a model in America, the land of opportunities! In the U.S. all the big campaigns are done, and in addition to that, there is a much greater variety of model types. Every Model has his or her unique style. I am more of a commercial guy, even though I have done High Fashion Modeling as well …

Singapore

When I signed with DT, I went to Singapore. Why? Because I didn’t have my Visa for the U.S. It is very hard to get. You have to have dozens of magazine publications, you have to have support, people have to recommend you, it is a real struggle to get that Visa. Right now I am applying for it, so fingers crossed!
At that time Singapore was a great option for me. It was a lot easier to get magazine publications there as in comparison to europe. I went there for three months and was working quite well – even though the market in Singapore does not pay very well. As a Fashion Model, you always have to invest in yourself for your future, especially in the beginning.

2020

January – Milan

Having done that, I got back to europe. I signed with a Model Agency in Milan, and I went to Milan. That was the next step. Sometimes Model Agencies pay for an AirBnB and part of your travel, which is really cool. But that wasn’t the case for me, unfortunately. I had to pay everything myself, but like I said, sometimes you have to invest.
So, I did pretty good in Singapore, I was confident enough to go to Milan and … I did not book one single job there. Not one. Obviously I was very depressed about it. But I have learned that sometimes you don’t get a job. If you don’t, that is not the end of the world, just work as hard as you can to get the next one! In average a model gets one in ten jobs, so don’t get upset if you don’t get anything for a couple of weeks or even months. Just make sure you work on yourself to get the next one.
Luckily for me, I was doing Instagram and creating my own videos on the side, so that way I had some sort of progress and still had a great time there.

March – stuck in Germany

When I got back home, Corona struck. We got in full lockdown and I was stuck in Germany. But it was actually a blessing in disguise for me. After months of travelling I was very privileged to spend time with my family. I grew my hair out, I shredded down my body, I started the Visa process for america and – when the lockdown was allowing it – did a few jobs here as well.

2021 – What is happening?

Now it is 2021. I hope to get my Visa very soon and smash the Fashion Modeling world overseas in the U.S.!

So, that is pretty much my story. I think, the most important advice I can give you is something, which has been said very often, but cannot be said enough: Never give up on your dreams! For a model, I didn’t have the perfect prerequisites. I don’t have the height for it, all the Model Agencies in Germany told me that I am too small.
I think you have to find your own market and believe in yourself. I believe in myself. I am going to america and I will smash it over there! I have done jobs (MCM, Levis, Cartier, Aussiebum,…) , I have done magazines (August Man Magazine, GMARO Magazine Cover, Desnudo Homme Cover, Vanity Teen Magazine, …) So I know, I can be a Fashion Model.

In the U.S., you have to be prepared for every situation, so I am taking acting classes as well. And in addition to that, I want to talk more about the Modeling World with you guys. I want to take you on the journey with me and maybe even give you some advice, if you are starting your own road.

The Youtube Video below will give you more insights and pictures about my journey.

Model ABC – What is a Test Shoot?!

There are many different types of test shoots. Basically the name “test shoot” already contains the explanation. You test, you learn, you connect with people from the industry and you expand your portfolio.

What is a test shoot?

A test shoot has no minimum or maximum number of people that can be involved. Sometimes only the model and the photographer shoot, sometimes make-up artists are involved as well. The only important thing is that no third party is involved which has commissioned the shoot. You work together, but for yourself, so to speak.
In the best case, no one has to pay for this test. The profit is the resulting pictures that the artists involved can include in their portfolio – the model as well as the photographer and the make-up artists.

Why do you need to do this?

If you are a model at the very beginning of your career, these shoots help to generate just that and fill your portfolio. Depending on the size of the photographer, he or she may demand a small fee from the model for this, since the photographer can usually not use the pictures as well as the model itself.
The opposite situation also exists: if the model has already achieved a certain level of recognition on the market, and a relatively new photographer wants to expand his skills, he may pay the model.
In most cases, however, no money flows from one to the other,  it is simply a test shoot to get to know each other and, most importantly, push each other.
But there are other reasons to have a test shoot. For example, I recently updated my portfolio because my hair is significantly longer than in the most recent picture in my portfolio. If the hair comes off again, I’m probably due for a new test shoot. 😀
A test shoot is also useful when entering a previously unknown country. This way you are able to get to know the local photographers and acclimatise. This is very important, because photographers are often responsible for selecting models for jobs. As everywhere in life, connections are incredibly important and contribute significantly to success.

How do I get test shoots?

The classic way to get a test shoot is through your own model agency. They can then get in touch with a photographer.
In the digital age, however, there are of course other ways. Instagram and the like make this possible. On these platforms, you can ask photographers directly and arrange a test shoot.

You basically can’t do too many test shoots. But you should always be careful and not equate these tests with real jobs. Remember: You don’t usually get paid for these shoots. Therefore, you should always think about booking “real” jobs and earning money. Don’t end up losing your appetite because you’ve had your fill of shoots. 😀

This is what a test shoot looks like!

With my team, I shot a short behind the scenes video of our test shoot in Singapore 2019. Here you can follow first-hand how such a shoot goes; how I get made up, the shoot itself and the selection of the photos on the computer. Just have a look at my YouTube channel: @fabianxarnold
